Yvette's love of art developed at a young age by observing her father, Ernest Granados, an oil painter, sign painter, and muralist. Some of her fondest memories are of the time they spent in the studio as he taught her about perspective, tone, value, and color. She studied drawing, oil painting, human anatomy and expressive art at Watts Atelier of the Arts, Art Academy of San Diego, Lela Harty Studio, Sky Mountain Institute, and Milan Art Institute.
Oil is her favorite medium, she also enjoys working with acrylics, mixed media, and natural elements. She captures the essence of the subject by letting her intuition lead, and being present with the colors and imagery. Trust, surrender, curiosity, flexibility, and play are key to her creative process.
